Friday, August 6 though Sunday, August 8, 2010

Update Summary:

Friday Evening:

• If you wish to socialize with classmates that have arrived early, come to the Study Pub on the 8th floor of the Fluno Center. It has a beautiful view of the Capitol and Madison skyline.  Although their kitchen is closed, a large complimentary cheese tray will be served from 6 to 8pm.  User pay beverages and pizza  can be ordered.

•  Reservations are not required.

•  If you want to eat more, State Street Brats, Dotty’s Dumplings (best hamburgers in Madison) and many other pubs are nearby.

Blackhawk Lunch.

• The start time has been changed from 12:30 to 12:00.

Reunion Dinner.

• 5:00pm Appetizers and cash wine/beer bar; Dinner was 6:00 now 6:30; Program at 7:15.

• Dress is business causal.  (No ties, jacket, jeans or shorts suggested).

• Teachers Larry Everard (program) and Arnold Chandler (program and dinner) will be attending.

• The program will be video recorded for Bill Ward who is paralyzed and unable to attend.

Weekend Agenda

Friday Morning Golf at Blackhawk Country Club*.  Early morning tee times.  Spouses welcome.  Not a scramble, but likely an orange ball tournament.  Green fee $70 plus $17.50 cart rental. Contact John Burley at johnlburley@gmail.com or cell: 773-320-1908.

Other:

Fluno Center: The Fluno Center, 601 University Avenue, has facilities that are as good as or better than any of the downtown hotels.  They only accommodate groups that are associated with the University.  Parking is available below Fluno Center, on nearby ramps and on the street.  See the parking map on their web site.

Accommodations:  For those needing overnight accommodations guestrooms are available. Their rooms are superior to most area hotels and are described on their web site, www.fluno.com.  The Fluno Center is not listed on the internet travel sites. Reservations can be made on their internet site or by calling 1-877-773-5866 (toll free).  Tell them you are with the University of Wisconsin High School Class of 1960.
